From nothing to holding
Get a Solana wallet
Install Phantom or Solflare from the official site or your app store, never from a link in a chat. Write the twelve word recovery phrase on paper and put it somewhere only you can reach. Anyone who asks you for that phrase is stealing from you, with no exceptions, including anyone claiming to be support for this project.
Fund it with SOL
Buy SOL on an exchange you already use and withdraw it to your wallet address, or use the wallet's own buy button. Keep a little more SOL than you plan to spend, because every transaction on Solana costs a fraction of a cent in fees and a wallet with zero SOL cannot move anything at all.
Verify the contract address
This is the step people skip and the step that costs them everything. Copy the address from this site or from the pump.fun page, then paste it into Solscan and confirm the name and symbol match before you go near a swap. Scam tokens copy the name, the picture and the ticker. They cannot copy the address.
Swap and start small
Use Jupiter or the pump.fun page to swap SOL for OA. Check the price impact before you confirm: on a thin market a large order moves the price against you and you eat that difference immediately. Your first buy should be small enough that being wrong about all of this costs you nothing you will remember.
Before you press confirm
Four ways people lose
The wrong address. A copycat token with the same name and picture. Solved by pasting the address into an explorer first.
Price impact. Buying more than the pool can absorb. The swap screen tells you the number before you confirm. If it is a large percentage, split the order or walk away.
Approving a drainer. A site that asks your wallet to sign something vague. Read what you are signing. If a page appeared in your messages and wants a signature, close it.
Buying the top of a spike. The oldest one in the book. Nothing on this site tells you when to buy, because nobody here knows.
